Akshay's Next Stunt Will Be In Antarctica

Akshay Kumar keeps on trying new things to keep his audience entertained. He probably realized that his comedies (Tees Maar Khan and Action Replayy) are not doing all that well and so he should focus on what he has always done best - Action.

Now for his latest flick with Sajid Khan - Housefull 2, Akshay will be going to Antarctica to shoot some action scenes in the freezing cold weather. And guess what he will be SHIRTLESS for an entire 10 minutes.

Sajid Khan will be taking Akshay to penguin land in Antarctica where he will fight the villains shirtless in an action scene. We all know Akshay does not like gimmicks and stunt men. He will do everything himself.

His fans always love him for his action stunts and nobody can beat him in this area. I am sure his fans won't be disappointed since the scene is meant to be larger than life.

"I Am Not Doing Any Item Song In Joker" - Katrina Kaif

Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha's film "Joker" has a special item song in it. There were talks in the industry that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will make a guest appearance for this song.

However, Katrina Kaif has clarified that she is in no mood to be a part of any song in Joker with Salman. She didn't explain anything more than that.

This means, that media will talk about the same shit all over again like Katrina did this because of her old ties with Salman and that she wants to stay away from him.

Although, I feel it is quite possible that she doesn't want to do any more items songs after "Shiela Ki Jawani". I think she mentioned it quite often after Tees Maar Khan's release that she doesn't want to be labeled as an item girl. As it is, she is a selfish woman. When she has to make an appearance with Salman and it is something good for her, she doesn't mind doing that.

The directors are thinking quickly of somebody who could participate in this special song in Joker now that it is evidently clear that Katrina Kaif is out of the picture.

Katrina Kaif To Become Brand Ambassador For Uni-ball Pens

Katrina Kaif can not act but she is one of the highest paid actresses of India. No matter what she does, even when it is absolutely fake and ordinary is somehow taken positively. For instance, her not so impressive speech in Rajneeti was much appreciated; her curly hair that made her face very plump overall was loved in Rajneeti and though Tees Maar Khan was not that great but her song Shiela Ki Jawani was loved largely by everyone. So much so she is dancing on all award shows as an item song.

So, now she is also making shit loads of money working in ads and endorsing various brands. We can see her all over the city because of LUX and Veet itself here. The latest in her list of brands in the famous Japanese brand - Uni-ball pens. This is the first time, Uni-ball pens will hire a celebrity endorser. The reason why they have selected Katrina Kaif is her popularity amongst the youth of India and the students who are the core target market of Uni-ball pens.

SRK & Farah Are Friends Again

Farah Khan & Shahrukh Khan All Happy After Patching Up At Apsara Awards

We all heard the news that Shahrukh was quite emotional in Koffee with Karan episode where he spoke about his faults and his misunderstandings with his close friends Salman Khan and Farah Khan. He also blamed himself for everything that happened between them and that he was too arrogant and proud to talk to them, call them up and to apologize. He showed that he missed them and regretted how things had turned out between him and his close friends.

Salman Khan considered the words nothing a but a fake apology. He openly responded that had Shahrukh really wanted to patch up he could have called me or come up and met me to sort things out but this apology in front of media is fake and he doesn't accept it.

However, Farah Khan's heart softened completely when she saw Shahrukh all gloomy in Karan's interview. He and Farah had a misunderstanding when Farah decided to cast Akshay Kumar in Tees Maar Khan instead of Shahrukh. Farah felt Akshay was the best choice for the role while Shahrukh didn't like her choice of choosing the lead actor. This led to them drifting apart.

Now, last night (11th Jan), Shahrukh and Farah met up at the Apsara Awards in Mumbai where they had a long heart to heart chat in Shahrukh's vanity van and cleared up everything. When they came out, they were all friendly and Shahrukh even gave Farah a friendly kiss.

Thus, the good news is that SRK managed to win the heart of one of his good friends after learning from his mistakes.

Tees Maar Khan - Detailed Movie Review

My sister has already written a review...this is the one I had written.

2010 ended with the release of a much talked about movie, Tees Maar Khan which is Farah Khan’s third venture as a director after Main Hoon Naa and Om Shanti Om. The story is written by Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder

In Tees Maar Khan, we can see Akshay Kumar (Tabrez Mirza Khan or Tees Maar Khan) as a very smart, fearless and shameless con artist who is one of the most wanted criminals of all times. He steals whatever he wants to and whenever he likes and he claims that it is impossible to keep Tees Maar Khan behind bars because he will escape anyway.

Tees Maar Khan, is hired by another pair of international smugglers, the Johri Brothers to rob antiques worth 500 crores from a heavily guarded moving train. The movie is about the challenging and almost impossible task that Tees Maar Khan has to accomplish and how he wins the hearts of many even while doing something wrong.

Other important characters of the movie are Katrina Kaif (Anya Khan) who plays the role of a wanna be actress and Akshaye Khanna (Atish Kapoor) who is a famous Bollywood superstar but who is desperate to get an Oscar Award.

All in all, the movie is fun and an extremely light entertainment. If you want to watch a movie that doesn’t require you to use your brains at all, you can view it with ease. Otherwise, it is fast paced and quite loud throughout. It is obvious, that Akshay Kumar and Akshaye Khanna were the only two people who acted well consistently throughout the film. Katrina didn’t have to work too hard and had to act a silly, dumb girl with an over accent – all of which comes naturally to her. Other characters such as the two police officers who were chasing Tees Maar Khan, the Johri Brothers, the Police Commissioner and Baweja (Atish Kapoor’s Manager) delivered their part nicely. While Tees Maar Khan’s gang Soda, Burger and Dollar were quite irritating most of the time and not necessarily funny as they tried to be.

Some of the funniest scenes were when Akshay Kumar saved the people in a flying plane by opening the cock pit and the passengers in the plane went crazy thanking him. While Akshaye Khanna performed a silly dance move whenever he felt he was a bit closer to his dream to win an Oscar was entertaining too. Also, the chaotically made and abruptly ending movie (Bharat Ka Khazana) that Akshay Kumar made within the movie while trying to steal the antiques was surprisingly fun. The half after the intermission was definitely more entertaining.

Shiela Ki Jawani and the title song Tees Maar Khan are quite catchy. Shiela Ki Jawani is already quite a hit amongst people so not much needs to be said about it. Farah also had quite a few guest stars in the movie such as Anil Kapoor and Chunkey Pandey while Sanjay Dutt delivered the opening narration in the movie and her friend Salman Khan who also did a male bonding song “Wallah Re Wallah” with Akshay Kumar.

Though Shahrukh Khan ended up ruining his friendship with Farah Khan for the role that Akshay Kumar played in Tees Maar Khan, but after watching the movie, people would agree that Akshay was the best choice for the role as he pulled it off in a perfect way. Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Naa is perhaps her finest works so far if one analyzes all her films. However, Tees Maar Khan has had a good start at the box office although it is not that great a film but audience is loving it for one reason or the other. For a light entertainment, one can watch it once at least.

'Tees Maar Khan' has an average run

All eyes were set on the biggest film of the year - 'Tees Maar Khan' - right through it's making and promotion. However, the box office outcome of the film belied all the expectations with the film not quite going the whole distance. Resultantly, after a terrific opening at the box office which did find itself in the record books, 'Tees Maar Khan' couldn't sustain itself and found a rapid decline over the weekdays.

Still, if one looks at the overall performance of 'Tees Maar Khan' in it's first week, it did rake in a little over 50 crores which is good by all standards. However given the scale of release, the way it had opened and the kind of expectations that one had from this biggie, it should have done better, something which even the makers would agree. Unfortunately for them, the second weekend didn't quite bring in any turnaround which means that eventually the film would settle down around the 70 crores mark.

On the other hand 'Toonpur Ka Superrhero' is a box office disaster with no pick up in collections being evidenced even though 'Tees Maar Khan' didn't quite prove to be a major opposition in the second week. On their part the makers have continued to promote the film extensively for second week in succession. However not many were interested to step in theaters and though those select few who did see the movie did have good things to say about it, a major chunk of audience is perhaps waiting for it to arrive on satellite and home video.

As for 'Isi Life Mein', it would have been done itself good by releasing straight on home video and satellite. This one too is a disaster at the box office by neither finding any footfalls to begin with nor any word of mouth to further boost it's collections.

Tees Maar Khan

I saw Tees Maar Khan & I wouldn’t recommend it, cause it’s senseless. I just can’t understand as to how it has been so successful. It’s actually an amalgam of countless movies. They have taken lots of things from here & there. Some of the dialogues are funny, but over all, the script is weak. Everything is happening too quickly in the movie.

Akshay Kumar & Akshaye Khanna have acted well. I don’t think SRK could have done that role of Tees Maar Khan. Moreover, the media was lying about Akshaye Khanna’s role being based on SRK. There was no similarity as such. He didn’t have any spine problem. Only in one scene, after lifting a heavy box of antique, he developed back problem & nothing was being mentioned. More than 200 people lifted heavy stuff in that particular scene.

Katrina Kaif as usual has confirmed she’s a dumb fuck. She didn’t act at all & even when she speaks English, she sounded fake. The songs are not that addictive. Although my sister thinks the title song is good.

Some of the scenes are of course hilarious. In one the man says his name is Bunny Baweja. To which Akshay Kumar replied lekin koi tou waja hogi!

But Akshay Kumar was definitely the right choice for this character. And Akshaye Khanna used to dance in a specific manner when he was too happy & that was just hilarious.

In the end, however, some of the scenes make you laugh, but over all, it’s not a good flick, to begin with. Main Hoon Na & Om Shanti Om were much better.
